The Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Democratic Party, has chosen Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat as its governorship candidate for Kano State after he emerged victorious in the party’s primary election.
Dalhat secured a clear lead over his rival, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abacha, son of former Nigerian Head of State, Sani Abacha. The exercise marked another major step in preparations for the 2027 general elections as political parties continue to position themselves across the country.
The result of the primary was announced by Hon. Umar Danjani Hadejia, who headed the election committee set up by the party’s national leadership to supervise the process.
According to the official figures released after the voting, Dalhat polled 2,233 votes to emerge winner, while Abacha received 749 votes.
Hadejia confirmed that Dalhat recorded the highest number of votes cast during the exercise and was therefore declared the party’s governorship flag bearer for Kano State ahead of the next election cycle.
