Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has formally congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke on his successful bid for a second term as Governor of Osun State. The re-election is being viewed by Governor Soludo as a clear indication of the public’s enduring trust in Senator Adeleke’s leadership style and vision for the region.
The election, held on August 15, 2026, saw Senator Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, emerge victorious after securing 511,067 votes. He successfully outpaced his primary competitor, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who finished with 444,815 votes. Statistical data confirms that the Governor-elect secured wins in 19 out of the state’s 30 local government areas, while his opponent carried the remaining 11.
In a statement released Monday through his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo praised the electorate for their peaceful conduct throughout the voting process. He noted that such civic participation is vital for the health of the nation’s democracy, as it allows citizens to actively shape their shared future.
Reflecting on the challenges of governance, the Anambra Governor emphasized that the most effective leadership occurs when officials look past partisan lines to prioritize collective development. He urged all stakeholders in Osun, spanning from the ruling party to the opposition and civil society groups, to foster an environment of peace and unity in the interest of the state’s continued progress.
As the political landscape in Osun stabilizes following a closely contested race, many leaders are now calling on Governor Adeleke to leverage his renewed mandate to consolidate past achievements. Zoyols News understands that the broader political consensus is that this next chapter should be defined by magnanimity, wisdom, and a renewed commitment to delivering lasting benefits to the residents of Osun.
