AAC’s Omoyele Sowore has accused the Benue State Government of orchestrating the blockade that prevented Peter Obi’s convoy from entering Makurdi on Tuesday.
Sowore claimed that the presence of a governor’s special adviser among the crowd chanting “Peter Obi, go back” pointed to official involvement. He described the disruption as a deliberate attempt to stop the former Anambra governor from addressing supporters in the state capital.
While acknowledging his political differences with Obi, Sowore stressed that the disagreement remains ideological and not personal. He warned that if such acts of intimidation are allowed to go unchecked, they could quickly escalate ahead of the 2027 elections.
The AAC candidate called on security agencies to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice, insisting that no Nigerian should be denied the right to move freely or campaign across the country.
