Toyin Abraham turns down APC role for 2027

Zoyols News
Popular Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has firmly distanced herself from the political scene, pushing back against reports linking her to the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Zoyols News gathered that the Lagos State chapter of the ruling party recently unveiled a star-studded campaign council, drawing several prominent figures from the entertainment industry into its newly formed Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate. The extensive roster featured notable industry heavyweights, including veteran actor Jide Kosoko alongside popular musicians like Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere, and Adewale Ayuba. Other well-known Nollywood faces named on the committee alongside Abraham included Eniola Badmus and Bimbo Akintola.
According to details released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, the campaign structure was slated for formal inauguration at the party’s secretariat located along ACME Road in Ikeja. The lineup designated Toke Benson-Awoyinka to head the entertainment directorate, with Kosoko serving as co-director and Badmus taking on the role of deputy director.
However, shortly after the document began circulating widely across digital platforms, Abraham took to her official Instagram story to clear the air. Addressing her fans and followers directly, the award-winning filmmaker made it clear that she is keeping her distance from political affiliations. Stressing that she had previously voiced her decision to stay out of partisan politics, she urged the public to completely disregard her inclusion on any committee or campaign council.
