UAE’s Synapse Analytics Raises $13m for AI Fintech Growth

Zoyols News

The latest investment brings the company’s total funding since its launch to $17 million. The round was led by Partech, with additional backing from Algebra Ventures and Silicon Badia.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Synapse Analytics develops AI powered decisioning infrastructure for banks, fintech companies, non banking financial institutions and telecommunications firms across the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

The company focuses on helping financial institutions make faster and more informed decisions in areas such as customer onboarding, credit, fraud detection and anti money laundering.

Its technology is designed to address one of the major challenges facing financial institutions as they adopt artificial intelligence. While AI can improve speed and efficiency, many institutions remain concerned about sending sensitive financial data outside their own systems or depending on infrastructure they do not directly control.

Synapse Analytics has built its platform to work within an institution’s own environment. Its solutions can be deployed on premise, through private, public or sovereign cloud infrastructure, as well as in air gapped environments.

This approach allows financial institutions to use AI while maintaining control over their data, internal policies and the intelligence generated from their decisions. The company’s proprietary models operate within the client’s infrastructure, helping institutions meet their compliance and data governance requirements.

The platform also allows risk and credit teams to modify policies and assess the potential impact of those changes against historical data before introducing them into live operations. This gives financial institutions greater flexibility to adopt AI without giving up the oversight required in highly regulated markets.

As digital financial services continue to expand globally, banks and other financial institutions are facing increasing pressure to assess customers and manage risk more quickly while complying with different regulatory and data protection requirements.

Synapse Analytics is positioning its technology to meet that growing demand by providing institutions with infrastructure that allows them to automate and improve risk based decision making without losing control of their systems and information.

Commenting on the investment, Partech Principal Lewam Kefela said the firm was pleased to support Synapse Analytics as it develops decisioning infrastructure for banks and financial institutions across the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Kefela highlighted the technical expertise and execution capabilities of Synapse Analytics’ leadership team, saying the company was well positioned for its next stage of growth.

Synapse Analytics Co founder and CEO Ahmed Abaza said the company’s goal is to provide financial institutions with the intelligence and decision infrastructure needed to make faster and more secure decisions, reduce risk, support growth and strengthen relationships with customers.

Beyond its core decisioning platform, the company is developing intelligent agents that work alongside risk and credit teams. These tools help institutions build and refine credit policies, improve underwriting criteria and monitor loan portfolios in real time.

According to Co founder and COO Galal Elbeshbishy, the agents can help financial institutions identify emerging risks and opportunities while responding more quickly to changes in market conditions and borrower behaviour.

The company now plans to use the new funding to accelerate product development, expand its workforce and enter more international markets as demand for AI driven financial decision making continues to grow.
