Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has reacted strongly to a social media user who advised her to take a break after recently welcoming her first child.
Zoyols News recalls that the designer and her husband recently announced the birth of their baby with a touching video shared online. According to Veekee, their daughter, Eliana Adeife Atere, was born on May 2.
Since becoming a mother, the celebrity designer has remained very active on social media, regularly sharing moments from her new journey with fans and followers.
However, a Snapchat user who appeared concerned about her wellbeing advised her to slow down and rest after childbirth.
The message read, “You just gave birth, rest Veekee.”
The comment did not sit well with the designer, who fired back immediately. Veekee questioned why people assume she should disappear from public view simply because she recently welcomed a child.
In her response, she stated that she had already spent enough time resting during pregnancy and made it clear that she has no intention of reducing her online presence anytime soon.
“My dear, you must be stupid and delusional. Did I complain to you? After carrying and birthing my child for 10 months, you think what I want now is rest? I have rested for 10 months already. That is the most rest I’ve had since I was born. Prepare to be sick of me,” she wrote.
Her reaction quickly sparked mixed responses online. While some people supported her bold response and argued that others should stop telling women how to live their lives after childbirth, others felt her reply was unnecessarily harsh.
A number of social media users defended the concerned fan, saying the comment sounded caring rather than insulting. Others, however, insisted that many people have become too comfortable giving unsolicited advice to celebrities online.
Veekee James got married to Femi Atere on February 10, 2024, in a wedding ceremony that drew attention across social media. Several celebrities attended the event, including Juliana Olayode, Eniola Ajao, Osas Ighodaro, Toke Makinwa, Priscilla Ojo, Pretty Mike and others.
The wedding also generated conversations online after the designer featured a choir of over 200 members during the ceremony, a move many described as extravagant at the time.
Despite the criticism that followed their wedding, Veekee has continued to publicly celebrate her husband. During a church thanksgiving service months ago, she described Femi as the best gift God has given her, praising him for bringing peace into her life and calling him a humble man. She also said marrying him remains one of the best decisions she has made.
