In a passionate defense of the current administration of the Federal Capital Territory, Dan Ulasi, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, has declared that the track record of Nyesom Wike remains beyond reproach. Speaking on Thursday during a live broadcast monitored by Reports, Ulasi argued that the evidence of the Minister’s hard work is visible to anyone traversing the streets of Abuja today.
Ulasi pointed out that the Minister is essentially replicating the same drive and energy he displayed during his eight-year tenure as the Governor of Rivers State. He noted that even though Wike has not yet hit the three-year mark in his current role, the sheer volume of infrastructural projects being executed provides an undeniable blueprint of success. According to him, the Minister has effectively shown that public office can indeed be used as a tool for the greater good.
The PDP chieftain went as far as challenging critics to a physical inspection of the work being done. He offered to personally cover the costs for anyone willing to tour the city to see the scale of transformation firsthand. Ulasi highlighted that many of these projects are being carried out in long-neglected areas of the capital, bringing high-quality roads to neighborhoods that previously had little hope for such development.
Reflecting on Wike’s previous role, Ulasi reminded the public that the Minister’s time in Rivers State was marked by a constant stream of project inaugurations. He recalled how top-tier traditional rulers, including the Sultan and various Emirs, were frequently invited to commission new works. To Ulasi, this frequent activity was the clearest sign of a leader who was actively functioning and delivering on his promises.
The veteran politician also took a moment to voice his frustration with the broader political culture in the country. He lamented that Nigerians often fail to prioritize performance, noting that there is a troubling tendency to ignore genuine achievement in favor of other distractions. He suggested that as long as a leader is delivering tangible results, their impact on the lives of the people should be the primary focus of public discussion.
By focusing on these visible milestones, Ulasi maintains that the FCT Minister has set a standard that should be respected rather than questioned. For him, the transformation of Abuja’s landscape is a testament to what a focused administrator can achieve in a short period.
