Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again sparked a wave of conversation across social media following a bold and controversial prediction regarding former presidential candidate Peter Obi. Taking to his official Twitter page, Edochie asserted that any political movement or party Peter Obi chooses to align with is destined for internal collapse. He specifically pointed to Obi’s recent activities with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the move as “dead on arrival” and a complete waste of effort.
According to Edochie, the challenges facing the former Anambra State Governor are not merely political or physical but stem from a much deeper level. He expressed surprise that Obi seems unaware of this reality, or perhaps is intentionally choosing to look the other way. Regardless of the strategy, the actor maintained a firm stance that the truth remains unchanged: Peter Obi will not be the President of Nigeria at this time.
This recent outburst marks a significant departure from Edochie’s stance during the 2022 election cycle. Back then, he was a vocal supporter of the Labour Party and its leadership. However, following the election results, the father of five made a highly publicized switch to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. While Edochie claims he still respects Obi as a great Nigerian, he has been adamant that the current era belongs to the “Jagaban,” suggesting that the next eight years are firmly dedicated to the current administration.
Since his political pivot, Edochie has been one of President Tinubu’s most enthusiastic cheerleaders. He has frequently praised the administration for what he describes as improvements in power supply and a reduction in security threats, labeling the President a master strategist and a silent achiever. His commitment reached a new height when he launched the “Relax, Jagaban Will Fix This Country” movement, a project his wife, Judy Austin, praised as a testament to his strength and unwavering dedication.
To further demonstrate his loyalty, Edochie recently adopted the moniker “Asiwaju Baby” and frequently appears in outfits inspired by the President. This level of devotion eventually earned him a formal appointment as the Deputy Southeast Coordinator for the “Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria” (RTIFN) group. Upon receiving the role, he declared himself battle-ready and fully prepared to serve the interests of the administration in the region.
The actor’s political transition hasn’t been without its share of friction. In recent reports tracked by Zoyols News, Edochie lashed out at critics, particularly those from his own region, who have questioned his support for the President. He challenged his detractors to show the same level of aggression toward supporters from other parts of the country, calling the backlash against him hypocritical. As the 2027 election cycle begins to take shape, Edochie has made his position crystal clear: for him, it is Tinubu or nothing.
