2027 Toyota Camry Debuts With Hybrid Power and Bold New Design

Zoyols News

Toyota is preparing to bring its 2027 Camry to the United States market, with the latest model combining hybrid performance, updated styling, advanced technology and everyday comfort.

The ninth generation of the popular sedan will be available in five grades: LE, SE, Nightshade, XLE and XSE. Unlike previous versions, every 2027 Camry comes with a hybrid powertrain, while buyers can choose between front wheel drive and Toyota’s Electronic On Demand All Wheel Drive system.

The new Camry is expected to arrive at Toyota dealerships in the United States this fall, with a starting price of $29,700, excluding dealer processing and handling charges.

Power comes from a 2.5 litre four cylinder engine paired with Toyota’s fifth generation Hybrid System, known as THS 5. The front wheel drive versions produce 225 net combined horsepower, while models equipped with all wheel drive deliver 232 horsepower.

Fuel economy remains one of the Camry’s major selling points. Toyota estimates that the LE front wheel drive model can achieve up to 51 miles per gallon in combined driving.

The hybrid system is designed to deliver a balance of efficiency and responsive performance. Power is sent through an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission, while Normal, Eco and Sport driving modes give drivers the option to adjust the car’s driving character.

For customers who choose all wheel drive, an electric motor mounted on the rear axle provides additional torque when needed. The system is designed to improve traction, stability and acceleration, particularly when road conditions become slippery.

Toyota has also focused on handling and ride quality. The Camry uses MacPherson struts at the front and a multi link suspension at the rear. The SE, Nightshade and XSE grades receive sport tuned suspension components aimed at providing sharper handling, while regenerative braking helps maintain consistent braking performance.

The exterior gives the 2027 Camry a more distinctive road presence, led by Toyota’s signature hammerhead front design. LED headlights and daytime running lights are standard across the range.

Different grades bring their own styling character. The LE and XLE focus more on refinement, while the SE and XSE adopt sportier body treatments, distinctive grilles and black exterior details. The Nightshade stands apart with additional gloss black elements and unique 19 inch wheels.

Inside, Toyota has designed the cabin around comfort and convenience, with upholstery choices varying by grade. Dual zone automatic climate control and push button start are standard, while higher trims can be equipped with heated and ventilated front seats, power adjustable seating and a panoramic roof.

Technology is also a major part of the new Camry. The sedan comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, five USB ports and an 8 inch touchscreen. Selected grades can be fitted with a larger 12.3 inch display, while a digital instrument cluster and JBL premium audio system are also available.

Safety remains a key focus, with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 included across the lineup. The system features pre collision detection, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert and road sign recognition.

The Camry also comes standard with Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Alert, adding further assistance for drivers in busy traffic and parking situations.

For 2027, Toyota has retained the existing Camry grade structure while continuing to build around the model’s hybrid powertrain. With its combination of fuel efficiency, updated styling, modern technology and practical features, the latest Camry is positioned as a sedan aimed at drivers who want everyday comfort without giving up performance.
