Zoyols News

Absa Bank Kenya PLC has partnered with Google Hustle Academy to provide business training and financial support to 3,000 small and medium sized enterprises across Kenya over the next 12 months.

The initiative, which has already completed three training cohorts involving more than 600 SMEs, is designed to equip entrepreneurs with practical skills needed to grow and formalise their businesses.

Through the partnership, participants will receive training in digital skills, financial management, business growth strategies and the effective use of artificial intelligence tools to improve productivity and expand their operations.

Google Hustle Academy delivers its programme through a free one day virtual boot camp that introduces entrepreneurs to the latest AI powered technologies and digital solutions. The training also includes practical workshops, mentorship sessions and opportunities for participants to learn from fellow business owners.

Speaking on the partnership, Absa Bank Kenya’s Director of Business Banking, Renato D’Souza, described the collaboration as a significant step toward empowering Kenyan entrepreneurs.

He said the bank is committed to providing small businesses with the knowledge, financial solutions and support required to thrive. According to him, combining Google’s digital expertise with Absa’s financial services will enable more entrepreneurs to formalise and successfully expand their businesses.

Beyond the training, Absa Bank Kenya will offer participants access to tailored banking solutions, including business financing, cash flow management tools, mentorship opportunities and market linkages to strengthen their long term growth.

The initiative also aligns with Google’s broader goal of making digital skills and technology more accessible to entrepreneurs, enabling small businesses to leverage innovation to reach more customers and improve their competitiveness.

Kristy Grant of Google Hustle Academy said the programme reflects the company’s vision of strengthening Africa’s digital economy by equipping entrepreneurs with the latest AI focused tools and techniques.

She noted that expanding access to world class digital training will create lasting opportunities for business growth while helping entrepreneurs maximise the benefits of Google’s products and technologies.
