Zoyols News

Air Peace has completed the fourth phase of its humanitarian evacuation operation from South Africa, bringing home another 284 Nigerians and pushing the total number of evacuees to 1,085.

The latest return flight was carried out in collaboration with the Federal Government and operated with the airline’s Boeing 777 200 wide body aircraft. The mission forms part of ongoing efforts to support Nigerians affected by the recent wave of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

In a statement issued by the airline’s spokesperson, Efe Osifo Whiskey, Air Peace said the latest evacuation further reflects its readiness to support national emergency response efforts whenever the need arises.

According to the airline, it had earlier evacuated 262 Nigerians on June 11, 271 on June 30, 268 on July 3 and another 284 on July 9, bringing the total number of citizens safely repatriated through the four flights to 1,085.

Air Peace said the operation goes beyond transportation, describing it as a reflection of the airline’s humanitarian values and long standing commitment to standing by Nigerians in difficult moments.

The carrier noted that the evacuation effort is driven by compassion, patriotism and a strong resolve to ensure that Nigerians, wherever they may be, can always count on a safe return home in times of crisis.
