Annie Macaulay Reacts to Viral Video, 2Baba Reunion Rumours

Zoyols News

Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has reacted to the circulation of an old video of herself and fresh rumours suggesting she has reconciled with her former husband, music star 2Baba.

The actress broke her silence after an earlier video resurfaced online and quickly gained attention across social media. In the clip, Annie spoke about her personal healing journey, revealing that the season had made her reflect deeply on love, self worth and the importance of being truly valued. She explained that many people remain in places where they are merely tolerated instead of choosing spaces where they are genuinely appreciated.

Around the same time, reports spread on X claiming that Annie and 2Baba had reunited. The speculation gathered momentum after an unverified video surfaced online, allegedly showing the actress saying she had been misled but eventually found her way back to her former partner.

Reacting to the reports, Annie dismissed the claims through her Instagram Story, expressing frustration over the spread of outdated videos and misleading stories.

She wrote, “Old videos circulating everywhere. False news everywhere.”

The rumours come more than a year after 2Baba publicly announced the end of their marriage. Since then, the legendary singer has moved on and is now in a relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.

Following the breakup, Annie has consistently embraced a fresh chapter in her life. During last year’s Headies Awards, she described her daughters as her greatest source of strength. She also attracted attention while presenting an award on stage when she introduced herself simply as Annie Macaulay, making it clear she was no longer using the Idibia surname and revealing that she was single.

The actress also signalled a new beginning by clearing her Instagram page of previous photos and posts before sharing a heartfelt message of gratitude to everyone who stood by her during one of the most difficult periods of her life.

Since the end of her marriage, Annie has frequently shared messages reflecting her growth, healing and determination to move forward. In one emotional post, she expressed hope that her daughter would never settle for less than she deserves and would always recognise her own value from the very beginning, while knowing she would always have her mother’s unwavering support.

She also shared another reflective message about choosing to move on, saying she prefers to archive the past and continue with life rather than dwell on painful experiences.

In other updates, Annie has spoken about enjoying her peace of mind, describing herself as a child of grace. She has also written encouraging notes to herself, celebrating the strength and dignity with which she has handled life’s challenges.

While welcoming the New Year, the actress looked back on what she described as the painful blessings of 2025, admitting the year tested her in many ways but expressing gratitude that she remained strong through it all.

In another recent post shared alongside photos of her outfit to the AFRIMA awards, Annie reflected on her journey, saying she has come to realise that despite a few challenges along the way, her life is beautiful and she remains deeply thankful for the many blessings she has received.
