US Hits Iran After Foiled Shipping Attacks

Zoyols News

US forces struck targets linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards after attempts to target commercial shipping and American troops in the region.

The strikes, which started around midday, came in direct response to recent incidents in the Strait of Hormuz. Washington said the action was meant to stop further threats to shipping lanes.

Tensions have risen sharply in recent days. The US carried out earlier strikes on an Iranian island, which Iran quickly followed with attacks on American positions in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

President Trump warned of a strong response at the time, and Tuesday’s action marks the latest round in the ongoing confrontation between the two sides.
