The Peoples Democratic Party has announced three days of mourning following the death of its National Vice Chairman (South-South), Dan Osi Orbih. The veteran Edo politician died in London on Monday.
All PDP offices across the country have been directed to fly the party flag at half-mast in his honour.
Tributes have continued to pour in from political figures including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo, former governor Godwin Obaseki, both PDP and APC chapters in Edo State, and Ambrose Alli University where Orbih served as Pro-Chancellor.
The party described him as a loyal and dedicated leader whose contributions to the PDP and Nigeria’s democracy will be remembered.
Wike called his death a devastating personal loss, while the Edo PDP described him as a “political colossus” and bridge-builder. The university noted his efforts to reposition the institution.
Orbih, who was 64, is survived by his wife, Florence, and two daughters. Burial arrangements will be announced later.
