Asa Asika on Davido: “Ran from School to Chase His Dream”

zoyolsnews

Asa Asika, the manager behind music superstar Davido, recently reflected on the singer’s remarkable journey. Sharing a photo of Davido from his days at Oakwood University, Asa highlighted how the star once ran from school to pursue his passion—and how that bold move now tells the story of his rise.

“Ran from school to chase the dream, now the school is telling the story. Moral: Follow your path! Love you forever, my G,” Asa wrote, showing his admiration and unwavering support for Davido.

Asa has long championed Davido’s influence, calling him one of the most impactful figures in Africa. He also emphasized the strategic approach behind the singer’s brand deals, ensuring every partnership aligns with Davido’s identity. “Nothing is random,” he explained in a past interview, “every brand deal reflects who he is.”

Davido himself has often spoken about his work ethic and the rewards it has brought. Reflecting on his wealth, he admitted that even if he stopped working today, billions would be waiting for him—but it’s the challenges and the hustle that keep him going.

Over the years, Davido has cemented his place as one of Africa’s greatest artists, delivering multiple hit albums and shows that draw thousands of fans. Last September, he achieved a historic milestone, making the Billboard 2024 Honor Roll for topping streaming charts—the only Nigerian artist on the list that year.

Despite facing criticism and attempts to discredit him, Davido has remained resilient. The Grammy nominee has openly acknowledged the challenges but credited his continued success to divine favor and relentless determination, showing that his path to greatness was paved by vision, courage, and unyielding hustle.
