The political atmosphere is heating up as Phrank Shaibu, a senior aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, launched a stinging critique against the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo. The dispute centers on the purported political dominance of President Bola Tinubu as the nation looks toward the 2027 general elections.
The verbal exchange began after Keyamo took to his social media account to praise the President’s rise from the fringes of the opposition to the highest office in the land. The Minister described Tinubu’s political journey as a unique feat, suggesting that his history of strategic wins places him significantly ahead of his contemporaries.
However, Shaibu was quick to dismiss these claims, arguing that past political victories are irrelevant if they do not translate into tangible governance. In a series of pointed responses monitored by Zoyols News, Shaibu remarked that the “myth of invincibility” often serves as a distraction when a government is struggling to meet the basic needs of its people. He emphasized that leadership is not a game of chess but a responsibility to provide security and economic stability.
Shaibu further pointed out that the average Nigerian is less concerned with political storytelling and more focused on the rising cost of living and persistent insecurity. He argued that being “steps ahead” in political maneuvering means very little when millions are grappling with hunger and a declining standard of living. According to him, the current realities on the ground suggest a government that is failing to keep pace with the crises it was elected to solve.
The critique concluded with a firm assertion that history will eventually judge the current administration based on its performance rather than its propaganda. Shaibu maintained that no amount of clever narratives or recycled tactics can hide the daily struggles of citizens who feel disconnected from a government that appears more focused on strategy than compassion and competence.
