Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Mercy Atang shared a heartfelt reflection this Mother’s Day, revealing a side of herself few knew. She admitted that years ago, the thought of giving birth scared her. Looking back now, she laughs at her younger fears, marveling at how life can change your perspective.

“Motherhood has been such an incredible journey,” she said. “Funny enough, years ago, I used to say I never wanted to give birth because I was so scared. Now, when I think about it, I just laugh at myself. Life really has a way of changing your mind. Today, all I want is to be the best mother I can be. Motherhood has made me more focused, resilient, and motivated to work hard and build a future my kids will be proud of. Even on the days when I’m tired and running on little sleep, the love makes it all worth it. Thank you, God, for this beautiful experience. I’m forever grateful.”

She extended her wishes to all mothers, celebrating their strength and dedication. “Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers around the world. Take your flowers, mommies—you deserve them and so much more. May God continue to bless us with wisdom, strength, patience, and the grace to keep being the amazing mothers our children need.”

Behind the joy of motherhood, Queen Mercy has faced personal challenges. In leaked conversations, she called out her ex, Lord Lamba, for being largely absent in their daughter’s life, providing only minimal support, and allegedly being unfaithful during their relationship. Reports also highlighted instances where Lamba failed to attend court hearings regarding custody and tried to publicly undermine Queen during her engagement in 2024 by acknowledging their daughter at the same time.

Lord Lamba has denied claims of sabotage, stating that his posts were meant to confirm paternity and that he and Queen are trying to provide the best for their daughter despite not being together. Nevertheless, reports indicate he filed a lawsuit seeking full custody, questioning Queen’s fitness as a mother, while social media commentary has praised her dedication as a parent, noting that she has been solely responsible for her child’s well-being and expenses.

Further revelations suggested that Lord Lamba’s family initially denied Queen’s pregnancy, even requesting a DNA test. A leaked voice note reportedly captured Queen expressing her pain over his mother’s hostility, underscoring the emotional challenges she has endured while raising her daughter.

Despite the difficulties, Queen Mercy’s reflections this Mother’s Day shine a light on her resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to her child, proving that motherhood has shaped her into a stronger, more determined woman.
