Bolt Stays in Nigeria After Uber’s Exit

Zoyols News

Bolt has confirmed it will continue operating in Nigeria despite Uber’s recent exit and the broader challenges facing the ride-hailing sector.

The company stated that Nigeria remains a key market and it will focus on supporting drivers, improving rider experience, and building a stronger mobility ecosystem. Bolt’s West Africa head emphasised the company’s long-term commitment and said it will keep working with regulators and partners to ensure reliable services.

Uber’s departure, effective September 2, 2026, leaves Bolt, LagRide and InDrive as the main ride-hailing options for Nigerians. The development may affect driver earnings and rider choices, especially for those who previously used multiple platforms.
