Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to expand his presence beyond the pitch with a role in a new television drama centred on the world of football.
The five time Ballon d’Or winner is set to appear in Day 1s, a new series built around the life of a fictional football agent. Alongside making a cameo appearance, Ronaldo will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
The lead role will be played by acclaimed actor Damian Lewis, widely recognised for his performances in Homeland and Billions. He will portray Stanley Dalton, a leading football agent navigating the highs and challenges of the game.
Former Arsenal and France star Thierry Henry is also expected to appear in the production, adding another familiar football figure to the cast.
Filming for the series is already underway, with some scenes being shot at English League Two club Barnet.
The concept for Day 1s was created by renowned football agent Darren Dein, who is also part of the production team as an executive producer.
The series is being produced by UR Marv Studios, the company jointly owned by Ronaldo and film director Matthew Vaughn. The cast also includes British rapper Dave and rising actress Carlotta Banat.
According to reports, the production will blend dramatic storytelling with light comedic moments, offering viewers a behind the scenes look at the football business through the eyes of a powerful sports agent.
Industry insiders believe the combination of globally recognised football stars, established actors and experienced producers is likely to attract strong interest from major streaming platforms.
The growing popularity of British football among international audiences, particularly in the United States, is also expected to boost the appeal of the series, with observers comparing its potential impact to the success enjoyed by football themed productions such as Ted Lasso.
