Cubana Chief Priest Opens Up on Tinubu Ties After Obi Exit

Zoyols News

Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has opened up on why his relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu still appears distant despite his strong support for the APC and the President’s second term ambition ahead of 2027.

Speaking about the situation, the celebrity businessman said he believes President Tinubu has remained careful around him because of his Igbo background and his previous support for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

Cubana Chief Priest was one of the notable public figures who openly backed Obi at the time. However, things later changed as he withdrew his support and aligned himself with the APC by early 2026. Since then, he has repeatedly declared support for Tinubu and his administration.

The socialite also stepped further into politics recently when he contested for a House of Representatives seat in Imo State. His ambition, however, suffered a setback after he reportedly secured just 14 votes in the exercise.

Despite the disappointing result, Cubana Chief Priest has continued to defend the current administration publicly. He recently praised Tinubu’s government while speaking about the success of entertainer Peller, claiming the environment created under the present leadership contributed to the streaming star’s growth and visibility.

He also reacted to critics who have continued to attack him online, insisting that many of those questioning him cannot match his level of success or lifestyle. According to him, some of his loudest critics cannot even boast of owning luxury vehicles like his G Wagon.

His comments have stirred reactions across social media, especially among Nigerians who still remember his strong support for Peter Obi during the last election season.
