Oborevwori Seeks Delta’s Backing for APC in 2027

Zoyols News

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has appealed to the people of Isoko Nation to support every candidate of the All Progressives Congress during the 2027 general elections, saying his administration has demonstrated its commitment to the area’s development through major projects.

The governor made the appeal on Monday while inspecting completed and ongoing projects at the College of Health Technology in Ovrode and the Ozoro Modern Market in Isoko North Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, and  Oborevwori said the government had invested significantly in road construction, healthcare, education and other key sectors across Isoko land and the rest of Delta State.

He urged residents to reward the administration’s efforts by voting for all APC candidates in the next general election.

Oborevwori said the government had delivered road projects, strengthened healthcare services and improved educational infrastructure, adding that development projects were being executed across all 25 local government areas and the state’s three senatorial districts.

The governor explained that inspecting projects before commissioning has remained a standard practice of his administration. According to him, the exercise allows him to personally assess the quality of work and ensure every project meets the expected standard before it is officially opened for public use.

He noted that although the College of Health Technology project had reached an advanced stage, a few minor corrections, including landscaping and finishing touches, were still required before the facility would be commissioned.

Speaking further, Oborevwori described the college as one of the state’s important projects, adding that the government approved and completed an access road to improve movement to and from the institution.

He said both the college and the newly completed road would be commissioned together, noting that the project reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare education and expanding quality public infrastructure across the state.

The governor also expressed satisfaction with the standard of work at the Ozoro Modern Market, stating that the facility had been completed several months ago and was fully ready for inauguration.

He explained that his administration is not focused only on road construction but is equally investing heavily in education, healthcare and other vital sectors. Oborevwori added that while the government does not publicise every completed project on social media, visitors who tour various parts of the state can clearly see the level of development achieved under the M.O.R.E. Agenda.

He further disclosed that major development projects are also ongoing at Southern Delta University, stressing that every part of the state is benefiting from the administration’s development drive.

Earlier, the contractor handling the Ozoro Modern Market project, Chief Iduh Amadhe, said the market had been completed since last year and was only awaiting commissioning by the state government.

He disclosed that the modern facility includes 192 open shops, 28 lock up shops, eight warehouses, 16 modern toilet units, water supply facilities, four fire points, meeting halls for market leaders, offices for market administrators and labour unions, as well as two security posts.

Amadhe, however, expressed concern over repeated acts of vandalism at the market, revealing that about N3.2 million had already been spent on repairs after the facility was attacked on three different occasions.

He appealed to the government to strengthen security around the market to protect the investment and ensure traders and residents can make full use of the facility after it is officially commissioned.
