The Dangote Refinery announced on Monday that the gantry price of petrol has been raised from N699 per litre to N799 per litre, with MRS retail outlets now selling at N839 per litre.
In a statement, the refinery explained that the adjustment comes after the festive period, aiming to bring petrol prices to sustainable levels while maintaining long-term market stability and affordability.
The refinery reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a steady nationwide supply of Premium Motor Spirit. It highlighted that during the recent festive season, it temporarily absorbed higher costs to ease the burden on households, marking the second consecutive festive period in which such measures were implemented.
“During the festive season, we intervened to support Nigerians through temporary price adjustments and logistical assistance. Despite these efforts, some filling stations did not reflect the reduced prices, denying consumers the intended benefit,” the statement read.
With the festive period now over, the new gantry price is set at N799 per litre, and MRS retail stations will sell at N839 per litre, ensuring a balance between affordability and market sustainability.
