Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has shared a proud milestone with her fans after returning to her former university to deliver a special speech.
The entertainer posted a video capturing the moment she addressed graduates at King’s College London, the same institution where she earned her degree in 2014. Twelve years later, in 2026, she stood before a new set of graduates to give the graduation commemoration speech, describing it as a full circle moment she could hardly believe.
Reflecting on the journey, Cuppy admitted she is still “pinching” herself. During her address, she referenced Davido’s well-known phrase, “We Rise By Lifting Others,” a message that aligns with her long-standing passion for education and empowerment.
Her academic journey has continued to grow over the years. In March 2023, she obtained a Master of Science degree from Oxford University, marking her third degree. She celebrated the achievement online, sharing photos from the ceremony and proudly highlighting the milestone. In another post, she playfully noted that she “brags differently,” expressing gratitude for how far she has come.
Beyond her personal achievements, Cuppy has consistently invested in others. She announced the launch of the ‘Cuppy Fund’ at New York University, a project designed to support African students studying abroad. Earlier in 2023, she also introduced a scholarship fund for African graduate students at Oxford University, aimed at providing financial support and opportunities for academic growth.
Her commitment to education extended further when she built a virtual laboratory for students at Jakande Estate College. Sharing moments from her visit to the school, she spoke about her deep love for learning and how honoured she felt to be part of a project that could shape young minds.
Cuppy has also drawn admiration for sponsoring the education of a young woman, reinforcing her belief in creating opportunities for others. Through her words and actions, she continues to combine influence with impact, using her platform to promote growth and empowerment.
