Nigerian DJ and entrepreneur DJ Cuppy took to social media to honour her mother, Nana Otedola, sharing heartfelt reflections amid swirling rumours about her parents’ marriage. Posting a series of photos spanning the years, Cuppy expressed deep gratitude for the guidance and protection her mother offered while raising her.

“One day isn’t enough to celebrate @nanaotedola 🥺,” she wrote. “The older I get, the more my mum starts to make sense… So many things I didn’t understand growing up, I understand now. The way she protected me. The way she worried. The way she always wanted the best for me, even when I couldn’t see it at the time. I’m just feeling really grateful for my mum and everything she continues to do for me. I love you, deep Mama.”

Fans quickly flooded the post with comments, joining Cuppy in celebrating the love and sacrifices of her mother.

In other news, Lagos-based woman Osarobo Odigie has initiated legal proceedings against popular TikTok streamer Habeeb Hamzat over alleged defamation, cyber harassment, and invasion of privacy. According to a pre-action letter from FA Garrick & Co. dated March 10, 2026, Hamzat allegedly insulted and recorded Odigie without her consent during a confrontation at Folixxx Lounge in the early hours of January 6, 2026.

The letter details that Odigie was at the lounge to purchase food when she was startled by Hamzat’s loud outburst. When she moved away, he reportedly confronted her, verbally abused her with Yoruba insults such as “Oloriburuku,” “Omo Ale,” and “Ashawo,” and recorded the interaction, later posting the video across Snapchat, WhatsApp, TikTok, and Instagram.

The viral clip allegedly sparked widespread online harassment and cyberbullying, causing Odigie significant emotional distress and fear for her safety. She is seeking ₦395 million in damages, covering alleged defamation, trauma, reputational harm, cyberbullying-related distress, and legal fees. Her legal team has also demanded the video be removed and a public apology issued within seven days, warning that failure to comply could result in a lawsuit.
