Ex-DML Akpatason: Why I’m Seeking a Fifth Term for Akoko-Edo

Zoyols News

Honorable Peter Akpatason, the former Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, has officially signaled his interest in returning to the green chamber for a fifth consecutive term. Representing the Akoko-Edo federal constituency, Akpatason believes his track record of service and consistent delivery of democratic gains provide a solid foundation for his continued representation.

The lawmaker shared these insights with Reports during a conversation held on the sidelines of a coronation reception in Uneme-Nekhua. He noted that his approach to governance has always been rooted in active consultation and dialogue, ensuring that the projects and policies he pursues align directly with the core needs of his constituents. According to him, the visible progress made across various sectors in the constituency justifies his decision to seek a renewed mandate.

Reflecting on his performance, Akpatason expressed confidence that he has fulfilled his promises to the people in significant ways. He emphasized that the strides taken so far were not accidental but the result of a deliberate effort to bring the benefits of government closer to the grassroots. For him, the goal remains to build on the existing momentum and push for even more developmental projects that will impact the lives of those he represents.

Beyond his political aspirations, the lawmaker also took time to celebrate the new traditional ruler of the community. He spoke warmly about the long journey leading up to the coronation, expressing deep personal satisfaction at witnessing such a historic milestone. He described the event as a victory for the community’s heritage and a moment he was truly glad to be a part of.

Closing his remarks to Zoyols News, Akpatason offered prayers for the monarch’s successful reign. He asked for divine wisdom and the necessary resources for the ruler to lead with distinction, hoping that this new chapter would usher in an era of lasting peace, unity, and prosperity for the entire community.
