The intersection of the Nigerian film industry and the consumer goods sector reached a new milestone last week as three of Nollywood’s biggest stars were officially named brand ambassadors for a rising herbal beverage. Femi Adebayo, Zubby Michael, and Destiny Etiko were unveiled in Lagos as the faces of 4 Rounds Bitters, a new product launched by MP Masterpiece Nigeria Ltd.
The unveiling, which also served as the formal market entry for the drink, brought together a diverse crowd of entertainment heavyweights, business leaders, and health professionals. According to reports captured by Zoyols Blog, the choice of these specific actors is a strategic move to blend the massive reach of Nollywood with the growing demand for authentic local products.
During the event, the Managing Director of MP Masterpiece, Mr. Emeka Ike, explained that the beverage was carefully formulated using a blend of African herbs and local ingredients. He emphasized that the goal was to provide an affordable yet high-quality option in the bitters market. By bringing on such recognizable faces, the company hopes to quickly establish a sense of familiarity and trust with consumers across the country.
Femi Adebayo, known for his deep commitment to promoting Nigerian culture through his films, noted that his partnership with the brand felt like a natural fit. He expressed his pride in supporting a product that reflects the country’s heritage. Zubby Michael shared a similar perspective, calling the drink a “proudly Nigerian” creation that resonates with the themes of his own work, while also pointing out that its relatively mild flavor might attract people who usually find traditional bitters too strong.
Adding a different perspective, Destiny Etiko admitted that while she isn’t a frequent drinker, she was genuinely surprised by how smooth the beverage tasted. She mentioned that its lack of harshness would likely make it a popular choice among women. Other speakers at the launch, including media personality Pooja Sulaiman and legal expert Eno Mbanugo, also weighed in, with Mbanugo touching on the general wellness benefits often associated with herbal bitters.
The lavish launch highlights a recurring trend in the Nigerian market, where beverage companies are increasingly leaning on celebrity influence to stand out. By aligning with stars like Adebayo, Michael, and Etiko, brands are finding more effective ways to bypass the noise and connect directly with a younger, culture-conscious audience. Following the event, Zoyols News expects to see 4 Rounds Bitters becoming a staple in a highly competitive industry.
