The Aig Imoukhuede Foundation has recognised outstanding civil servants from more than 50 Ministries, Departments and Agencies for their dedication, integrity and contributions to improving Nigeria’s public service.
The recognition took place in Abuja during the 2026 Civil Service Week celebrations at the weekend, as the foundation marked the fifth anniversary of the Emily Aig Imoukhuede Memorial Endowment Fund, established in 2022 in honour of the late Pastor Emily Aig Imoukhuede.
The award recipients were honoured under two categories, the Presidential Civil Service Merit Award and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation EPIC Award. The awards recognise public servants who have demonstrated professionalism, accountability, excellence and a strong commitment to serving the country.
One of the recipients was Anthony Okechukwu Ogwo, an alumnus of the Aig Imoukhuede Public Leaders Programme Cohort 5.
Speaking at the Civil Service Week Awards event, the foundation’s Director of Programmes, Chioma Njoku, said public servants remained central to effective governance and better outcomes for citizens.
She said the Emily Aig Imoukhuede Memorial Endowment Fund was created to recognise individuals whose commitment to integrity, excellence and service provides an example for others and strengthens the values needed for an effective, citizen focused public service.
Since the fund was established, more than ₦60 million has been awarded to civil servants across over 50 Ministries, Departments and Agencies for outstanding performance and contributions to public sector development.
As the endowment fund marks its fifth year, Njoku reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to promoting professionalism, celebrating excellence and supporting efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s public service.
The foundation said the continued recognition of deserving civil servants was part of its broader effort to encourage a culture of integrity, accountability and improved performance across government institutions.
