Kindness Wins My Heart, Not Looks — Bolaji Ogunmola

Zoyols News

Nollywood actress, filmmaker and entrepreneur Bolaji Ogunmola has shared what truly matters to her when it comes to choosing a life partner, saying that while physical attraction may spark interest, kindness is the quality she values above everything else.

Speaking during an interview with Saturday Sun, the award winning actress explained that genuine character is what keeps relationships strong long after first impressions fade.

According to Ogunmola, kindness reflects the way a person treats others, responds to difficult situations and nurtures relationships. She noted that the trait is a clear sign of empathy, emotional maturity and inner strength.

She said physical appearance may attract someone at first, but lasting relationships are built on character. In her view, a kind partner brings peace, comfort and a sense of security, qualities she believes are priceless in any meaningful relationship.

Addressing the widespread belief that women in Nollywood struggle to build lasting romantic relationships, Ogunmola disagreed with the narrative. She insisted that genuine love is still attainable and should not be judged based on career choices or public perception.

She explained that every relationship is different and cannot be measured by a single standard. Rather than focusing on stereotypes, she believes successful unions are built through patience, understanding, commitment and the willingness of both partners to invest in each other.

The actress also stressed the importance of finding someone whose values and outlook on life align with one’s own. She said mutual respect, honest communication and sincere care remain the pillars of every enduring relationship, adding that everyone has the opportunity to find the right person.

Looking back on her acting journey, Ogunmola said she has reached a stage where very few roles intimidate her. Instead, she now embraces challenging characters that allow her to grow creatively and stretch her abilities as a performer.

She noted that exploring demanding and diverse roles has become one of the most rewarding aspects of her career, as it continues to push her beyond her comfort zone and strengthen her craft.
