Senator Victor Umeh has dismissed the political opposition in Kano State, asserting that Rabiu Kwankwaso remains invincible in the region ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a Channels television interview on Friday, the lawmaker representing Anambra Central maintained that despite the intense political noise from rival camps, no opponent can defeat Kwankwaso in Kano, provided the electoral process is credible, transparent, free, and fair. Kwankwaso is slated as the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for the upcoming polls.
Umeh emphasized that the party is heading into the 2027 race with a formidable lineup of credible candidates capable of securing victory, noting that the ultimate power rests with the Nigerian electorate. Working closely with Kwankwaso and other key party leaders, he stressed that the opposition is far better prepared this time around to mount a robust and competitive challenge.
Reflecting on recent political events, the federal lawmaker also drew attention to the massive reception Peter Obi received during a visit to Rivers State, comparing the public enthusiasm to biblical proportions. He expressed confidence that this widespread grassroots support would naturally translate into substantial votes on election day, while passionately appealing to electoral authorities to ensure a level playing field for all participants in 2027.
