Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has released a 23 player squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly matches against Senegal, with several established names and a few fresh faces included in the team list.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and experienced forward Asisat Oshoala all make the squad as Nigeria continues preparations ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The list also sees the return of midfield veteran Ngozi Okobi Okeoghene, alongside attackers Francisca Ordega and Gift Monday. Madugu also handed opportunities to Belarus based forward Blessing Nkor and Turkey based midfielder Kafayat Shittu as part of efforts to widen the team’s options.
Other inclusions feature home based goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, England based defender Rofiat Imuran, and Israel based defender Sikiratu Isah. Defensive reinforcements also include Tosin Demehin and Shukurat Oladipo, while the midfield is boosted by Halimatu Ayinde, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echegini, and Kafayat Shittu.
In attack, the coach named Omorinsola Babajide, Joy Omewa, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Blessing Nkor, joining established stars like Oshoala and Gift Monday in the forward line. Christy Ucheibe is also included following her successful domestic season.
The Super Falcons are scheduled to face Senegal on Friday, June 5, before a second encounter on Monday, June 8. Both matches will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne Remo as part of the team’s build up to major upcoming tournaments.
Madugu’s selection blends experience with emerging talent as the team continues to fine tune its squad ahead of future international commitments.
