Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to delivering the real dividends of democracy to the people of the state. He made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, at the palace in Orile-Igbon, Surulere Local Government Area.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, the governor called for increased cooperation from residents of the Ogbomoso Zone, emphasizing the need for collective effort in driving development. “I want to reiterate our administration’s commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to residents of this state,” he said.
Governor Makinde assured residents that the rehabilitation of inner roads across the five local government areas would commence soon, highlighting his administration’s goal to ensure balanced development across all zones. “Our focus is to develop the state comprehensively, leaving no zone behind,” he added.
Expressing confidence in the continuity of good governance in Oyo State, Makinde noted that the state would be led by a successor capable of sustaining and even surpassing the achievements of his administration.
The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon commended the governor for the unprecedented progress made under his leadership and pledged the continued support of the people of the zone.
The event was attended by top government officials, including the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola; Senior Executive Assistant to the Governor on General Duties, Bayo Lawal; state Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Akinwole Akinwale; state Chairman of the Elders’ Council, Saka Balogun; and members of the Peoples Democratic Party. Traditional rulers present included the Onpetu of Ijeru, Oba Sunday Oyediran, and the Aresapa of Iresapa, Oba Moses Ajiboye.
The visit underscored the administration’s focus on inclusive development, community engagement, and sustained delivery of tangible benefits to Oyo State residents.
