The second edition of the Nigeria Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit is set to begin in Abuja on Tuesday, August 4, with organisers promising a platform designed to strengthen trade, investment and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking during a press briefing, one of the organisers, Muhammed Umar Yaro, said the two day summit will take place on August 4 and 5 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
According to him, the event is aimed at bringing together policymakers, investors and business leaders to explore fresh investment opportunities while identifying practical ways to deepen commercial and economic relations between both countries.
Yaro disclosed that the exhibition is expected to attract more than 100 exhibitors, about 5,000 visitors and participants from 20 key investment sectors, making it one of the largest Nigeria Saudi investment gatherings in recent years.
He explained that discussions and exhibitions will focus on major sectors including energy, agriculture, real estate, tourism and manufacturing. He also encouraged interested participants to register through the event’s official portal to take part in the summit.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri Erewa, described the summit as an important step toward expanding economic cooperation between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Represented by the Commission’s Secretary, Dr Sule Yakubu Bassi, she said the event would help address misconceptions surrounding investment in both countries while creating fresh opportunities for businesses and investors.
She recalled that the maiden edition of the summit, held in 2019, attracted more than 30 Saudi Arabian companies and expressed confidence that this year’s gathering would further strengthen investment partnerships between the two nations.
Dabiri Erewa also praised Al Yaro International Limited for its continued commitment to promoting investment opportunities and enhancing business visibility for entrepreneurs and companies operating in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
Also speaking, NiDCOM’s Head of Department for Technology Transfer, Innovation and Investment, Abdulrahman Terab, said the summit has been carefully designed to provide participants with valuable insights into the investment climate in both countries while encouraging stronger business collaborations.
He noted that although Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed cordial diplomatic, cultural and economic relations for many years, there is still significant room to expand those ties through increased private sector investment and commercial partnerships.
Terab encouraged Nigerian entrepreneurs, investors and other stakeholders to take advantage of the summit to build new business relationships and explore opportunities that could benefit both countries.
The Nigeria Saudi Diaspora Investment and Tourism Exhibition Summit is being organised by Al Yaro International Company in collaboration with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Almanafie, the Association of Nigerians in Diaspora Saudi Arabia and Suruh Alhijaz.
