Shakira and Other Mega-Stars Set to Rock the 2026 World Cup Final

Zoyols News

The 2026 World Cup is already pacing itself to be the grandest tournament in football history, but FIFA is taking things a step further by turning the final match into an unprecedented entertainment spectacle. On July 19, the tournament’s climax at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will feature a massive, Super Bowl-style half-time show headlined by an absolute powerhouse lineup: pop icon Madonna, Latin superstar Shakira, and K-pop titans BTS.

This ambitious entertainment fusion, curated by Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin, marks a dramatic shift for the sport. While the star power is undeniable, the concept has already sparked plenty of chatter among traditional football purists. Many fans have voiced concerns over how an extended, American-style half-time production might impact the flow, momentum, and strict timing of a World Cup final.

The road to this historic finale begins on June 11, 2026, as the United States, Canada, and Mexico jointly host an expanded 48-team tournament, making it the largest World Cup ever staged. The groundbreaking half-time show was originally unveiled by FIFA President Gianni Infantino back in March 2025.

Infantino promised that the event would be a historic moment for the tournament, calling it a show truly befitting the biggest sporting event on the planet. He also teased that the World Cup fever would completely take over New York’s iconic Times Square during the final weekend, blending elite sports and global pop culture like never before.
