A prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Comrade Lukman Olukayode Ahmed, has voiced strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2026 fiscal strategy. Ahmed, who previously served as a Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and currently coordinates the Remi Tinubu Support Organisation, described the new budget as a bold and necessary step toward national stability.
Central to Ahmed’s commendation is the substantial N5.41 trillion allocated to the defense and security sector. He noted that this record-breaking figure is a clear signal of the administration’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace to troubled regions. For many Nigerians, this financial commitment is seen as the backbone of the “Budget of Consolidation, Renewed Resilience and Shared Prosperity,” which aims to turn the tide against insecurity once and for all.
Ahmed highlighted that the President’s approach goes beyond simple numbers; it represents a fundamental shift in how the nation manages its resources. He pointed out that by emphasizing both fiscal accountability and security, the government is creating a foundation where sustainable development can finally take root. According to him, the 2026 Appropriation Bill serves as a decisive political and economic message that the era of “business as usual” is over.
Beyond the security focus, the Kwara APC stalwart praised the administration’s efforts to align state power with long-term national productivity. He argued that the strategic pillars of the budget—which also prioritize infrastructure and human capital—are designed to ensure that the ongoing reforms result in tangible benefits for the average citizen. Ahmed stressed that the President’s presentation to the National Assembly was not just a constitutional formality but a roadmap for a more resilient Nigeria.
As the budget moves through the legislative process, supporters like Comrade Ahmed believe that the focus on “measurable outcomes” will be the key to its success. By tying massive security spending to clear results, the administration hopes to rebuild public confidence and ensure that every naira spent contributes directly to the safety and prosperity of the country.
