Nyesom Wike has stated that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke is firmly in his political camp, while making it clear that all of them ultimately belong to President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Wike said Adeleke’s recent meetings with both him and the President had confirmed his support for Tinubu. He dismissed claims by some African Democratic Congress members that they helped secure Adeleke’s governorship victory, describing it as an attempt to take credit they did not deserve. He insisted that Adeleke was now fully behind the President.
Wike also predicted that more political groups and individuals would soon join the growing coalition backing Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections, describing it as a larger “rainbow coalition.” He rejected suggestions that the presidential contest was already decided, saying more developments would unfold in the coming weeks.
Taking a shot at publisher Dele Momodu, Wike questioned where he would now stand following Adeleke’s meetings with the President’s camp. He noted that Momodu had often appeared on television referencing his Ife roots in the hope of drawing Adeleke closer.
Wike wrapped up by declaring, “Adeleke belongs to us, and we all belong to Mr President.”
His comments come after Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return to both Wike and Tinubu following his victory in the August 15 Osun governorship election, where he contested on the Accord Party platform.
