England forward Michelle Agyemang has confirmed that she will miss the rest of the football season after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.
The 19-year-old striker, who played a vital role in England’s Euro 2025 triumph, sustained the injury during the Lionesses’ 3-0 victory over Australia. She was stretchered off the field after collapsing in a non-contact incident, just 13 minutes after being introduced as a second-half substitute.
Agyemang, currently on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion from Arsenal, shared the devastating news on her Instagram page, expressing her heartbreak over the diagnosis but also her determination to bounce back stronger.
“Disappointed that results show a torn ACL,” she wrote. “I’m deeply grateful for all the kind words and support from everyone. Recovery starts now — I’ll be back stronger than before.”
The talented young forward has been one of the brightest prospects in English women’s football, and her absence will be a major blow to both her club and country.
Reports says that fans and teammates have continued to flood her social media with messages of encouragement, hoping for a swift and successful recovery for the promising star.
