Nigerian makeup artist Theresa Emegwara, widely known as Tesglam, has officially earned a place in the Guinness World Records after completing a staggering 146-hour continuous makeup marathon in Lagos. The feat, verified months after her attempt in August 2025, now cements her status among the world’s top beauty professionals.
The marathon took place during the Glam 4–144 event at Landmark Boulevard, Lagos. Over six consecutive days, Tesglam applied makeup non-stop for 146 hours, 23 minutes, and 56 seconds, working on over 200 faces and surpassing the previous record of 103 hours set by a Ghanaian makeup artist. The event attracted a constant flow of creatives, models, and onlookers, with many others following the journey online. Landmark Boulevard provided the space and logistical support critical to sustaining such an intense session.
After the official verification, Tesglam was awarded her Guinness World Records plaque and medal, a recognition of the meticulous planning, endurance, and skill required to achieve the milestone. During the marathon, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth visited the venue, later sending a congratulatory message highlighting her global impact. “She has not only represented Lagos with pride but has inspired young creatives to aim for excellence on an international stage,” the Commissioner said.
Tesglam, however, emphasized that the achievement was a team effort. “I didn’t do this alone. From the Landmark team to the volunteers, the models, and everyone cheering online, this record belongs to all of us,” she said, acknowledging the support that made the marathon possible.
Her achievement follows a growing trend of Nigerians setting Guinness World Records in the beauty industry. On 11 October 2025, reality star and entrepreneur Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, set two records in Lagos for cosmetic makeovers: the most makeovers completed in 8 hours (82 people) and in 24 hours (144 people). Confirmed in November 2025, Tacha became the first Nigerian to achieve two Guinness World Records in a single session, further solidifying the country’s presence on the global beauty stage.
Tesglam’s record not only highlights her personal dedication but also showcases Nigeria’s growing influence in global creative and beauty industries.
