Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has publicly apologized to her colleague, Mercy Johnson, putting an end to a long-standing feud.
Okorie, who was briefly detained by the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre in Abuja over cyber-related allegations involving Johnson, released a heartfelt video on her Instagram page following her release from Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State. In the video, she acknowledged her imperfections and admitted that rumors and negative talk had unfairly influenced her feelings toward Johnson.
“I want to apologize sincerely to Mercy, her children, and her family. I am not perfect, and I know I allowed gossip to cloud my judgment. At this stage in life, I don’t want drama; I want to focus on my business and peace,” Okorie said. She clarified that Johnson is not a witch and is nothing like the rumors that have circulated, describing her instead as a wonderful, kind-hearted person.
Angela explained that she reached out to Johnson through a mutual colleague and that the apology was warmly accepted. She added, “Mercy, this is a new beginning. You’re my friend, and you’re still my friend. I will never listen to what anyone says about you again. If I have offended you knowingly or unknowingly, I am deeply sorry.”
For years, Okorie and Johnson had exchanged public criticisms for undisclosed reasons, with tensions resurfacing last year. However, Angela noted that learning about Johnson’s illness and reflecting on her own life prompted her to reconcile, leaving past grievances behind.
She emphasized that her priority now is peace, understanding, and setting a positive example for their children, expressing gratitude to her fans for their support throughout the ordeal.
This public apology marks a turning point in the relationship between the two actresses, signaling a desire to move forward and embrace forgiveness, unity, and mutual respect.
