Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has finally regained her freedom after spending a tense weekend in police custody. The actress was released on Monday, December 22, 2025, following her arrest on Saturday over a highly publicized dispute involving the founder of Grace Nation Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor.
Shortly after her release, Ogala took to her Instagram page to confirm she was out and to express her appreciation to those who stood by her. She specifically noted the roles played by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and social media personality VeryDarkMan, thanking them for their intervention in her case. She wrote, “Thank you, Sowore. Thanks so much to my ratel king.”
The legal trouble for the actress follows weeks of heated public claims and counterclaims. The controversy began when a video circulated showing the cleric’s engagement to another woman. Ogala reacted by alleging that she and the pastor had been in a romantic relationship since 2017. She further claimed that she had walked away from her previous marriage at his request, believing they had a future together.
The situation escalated when Ogala issued a public ultimatum, demanding that the cleric either follow through with marriage or provide financial compensation in the form of a house. Despite these demands, the cleric proceeded with his wedding ceremonies, with images of his traditional and white wedding surfacing online just last Wednesday.
The friction reached a breaking point last Friday when the actress shared a sensitive photo, which she later deleted, purportedly showing the pastor in a private bedroom setting. It was shortly after this social media outburst that the police moved in to effect her arrest. Now that she is back home, many are waiting to see if this marks the end of the public feud or just the beginning of a new legal chapter.
