Georgina Ibeh’s Phone Stolen at Premiere

Zoyols Blog

Nollywood actress Georgina Ibeh has had her excitement completely overshadowed by an unfortunate incident, revealing she is deeply saddened after her Samsung Fold phone went missing during the premiere of Toyin Abraham’s new movie.

Sharing her distress on her Instagram page, the actress confessed that despite attending a spectacular event, she hasn’t been in good spirits since the phone disappeared. She felt compelled, however, to share a video review of the movie, wanting her followers to understand just how much she loved the film, even amid her personal loss.

Despite the setback, Georgina offered a glowing, unqualified endorsement for the film, Oversabi Aunty, hailing it as an exceptional piece of cinema. She praised the effort of the entire cast, noting that every actor delivered their very best. The compelling storyline, she stressed, was what truly impressed her, skillfully tapping into a full spectrum of emotions.

“OVER SABI AUNTY The Movie is a MUST watch in every cinema, guys. This movie is highly recommended, and I must commend @toyin_abraham for an exceptional piece,” she wrote. “All actors gave their best; I was totally impressed with the storyline, which evoked every emotion you can imagine. You will laugh, cry, get angry, and in the end, be fulfilled. In fact, I do not want to give spoilers. Please, once it’s out in the cinemas, please and please, watch and thank me later.”

She then dropped the bombshell that explained her dampened mood. “I had so much fun until someone stole my Samsung fold phone. I haven’t been happy since morning, but I just had to put these videos up so you will understand how much I love this movie.” She concluded with a desperate plea: “If you were at the event and came across a Samsung fold, please send me a DM, abeg. Thank you.”

Unfortunately, Georgina Ibeh is not the only celebrity to have suffered a loss at a high-profile event. Last year, during Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere, actress Mercy Aigbe’s assistant lost two of her phones. Iyabo Ojo had to make a public appeal, asking the thief to return the devices and even offering a financial reward to anyone who could find them. Mercy Aigbe did, however, find a silver lining that evening, as she was crowned the Best Dressed Female and received a handsome cash prize of half a million naira.

The rise in phone theft at celebrity gatherings is becoming a disturbing trend. Earlier, actress Angela Okorie publicly lashed out after her Samsung phone was stolen at another event. Questioning the motive behind stealing phones in the modern age, she expressed deep frustration and even revealed she had cursed the perpetrator, stressing that she would have willingly given the person a million naira if they had simply asked for help. Similarly, talent manager Soso Soberekon was forced to make a generous public offer after his phone was taken during Israel DMW’s wedding. The former manager of Harrysong promised to pay half a million naira, or even more, for the safe return of his device.
