Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has officially mandated all commissioners and heads of government agencies to present comprehensive reports of their performance over the past year. The directive, which was issued during the opening of a two-week ministerial briefing at the State Executive Council Chambers in Uyo, requires officials to detail their 2025 achievements while outlining clear projections for 2026.

The Governor emphasized that every plan and project for the new year must be strictly in sync with the ARISE Agenda of his administration. Speaking on Monday, January 12, Governor Eno made it clear that the state is entering a critical phase of expansion and growth. He noted that the daily briefing sessions, scheduled to run until January 21, are designed to ensure that the government remains focused on its developmental goals even as the year brings about various political activities.

The Governor urged his team to provide a full account of their ministries, including staff strength and budgetary plans, while stressing that there is no room for excuses in his cabinet. He described 2026 as a year for tangible results and action, building on the foundations laid during his first two and a half years in office. He also encouraged council members to stay active in their communities by mobilizing residents for the ongoing voter registration and party e-registration exercises.

Supporting the Governor’s initiative, the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, praised the leadership style of the Governor. He noted that the “briefing-before-briefing” approach is a proactive move that ensures everyone is on the same page before the year’s work fully ramps up. Uwah assured that members of the executive council are fully prepared to meet the administration’s high expectations.

The formal sessions kicked off immediately following the announcement, with the Ministry of Works and the Fire Service being the first to take the floor. As the briefings continue through the week, the administration aims to frontload its priorities, ensuring that government programs are delivered efficiently and without delay to the people of Akwa Ibom.
