Gov Lawal Names New Vice Chancellor for Zamfara State University

Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Abdullahi Tsafe as the new Vice-Chancellor of Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara (ZAMSUT), for a five-year term.

The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, announced that the appointment follows the recommendations of the University’s Governing Council.

Professor Tsafe, a distinguished academic, earned his Doctorate of Philosophy in 2006 and was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2013 at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS). Over the years, he has held several key administrative positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences at UDUS.

Since 2018, he has also served as a visiting Professor at ZAMSUT, where he currently holds the position of Dean of the Faculty of Science. His extensive experience in academic leadership positions him to drive the university toward greater achievements.

Governor Lawal expressed confidence that Professor Tsafe’s expertise and vision will advance ZAMSUT’s academic standards and strengthen the administration’s commitment to quality education and institutional excellence.
