Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has personally taken part in the All Progressives Congress (APC) e-membership registration and revalidation exercise at his Katuka Polling Unit in Radda Ward, Charanchi Local Government Area. He described the exercise as a key step toward strengthening the party’s internal democracy, unity, and organisational structure.
Governor Radda explained that the nationwide digital registration was introduced to update and verify the APC membership database, ensuring transparency and proper recognition of all members. Speaking at his polling unit, he emphasized that he attended not as governor, but as a committed party member, to demonstrate equality, discipline, and respect for party processes.
“Today, I am here not as Governor, but as a loyal APC member,” he said. “All members are equal under the party constitution and its rules.”
He highlighted that the e-registration and revalidation process gives members a sense of belonging and opens the pathway for political participation, from councillor to House of Assembly, local government chairman, governor, and even president. Governor Radda called on all members who still hold old membership cards to visit their polling units and complete the digital process.
“I urge our members at every level to come out and register and revalidate. This guarantees recognition and secures your future participation in party affairs,” he said.
The governor also stressed the responsibility of polling unit heads, ward executives, and local government party leaders in mobilizing grassroots members. “Every polling unit must own this task. Our strength as a party depends on our numbers, and no member should be left behind,” he declared. He further called on local government chairmen, councillors, and APC zonal chairmen to intensify mobilisation to ensure Katsina records one of the highest digital membership turnouts in the country.
Governor Radda charged the State Chairman and the State Executive Committee to provide strong leadership and effective coordination throughout the exercise, which will continue until the end of January. “There is time, but members should not wait until the last minute. I urge everyone yet to register to do so promptly,” he said.
Highlighting Katsina as a traditional APC stronghold, the governor said the party’s grassroots support must be properly documented to reflect its true strength nationally. He also called on all political office holders, including heads of MDAs and parastatals, to participate fully, stressing that leadership by example reinforces loyalty and commitment.
Governor Radda reminded members of the requirement to present a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) for the digital registration. “Having a NIN is no longer optional; it is essential for governance, opportunities, and full inclusion in national development,” he added.
Earlier, the APC Council Chairman, represented by his vice, Aminu Hassan, praised Governor Radda for his leadership style and encouraged residents to proceed to their wards and polling units to participate in the exercise. The State Coordinator for the APC e-registration confirmed the process will last two weeks, after which the portal will close until post-primaries. He noted that six personnel have been deployed to each polling unit to assist with registration and revalidation.
The exercise was attended by the APC State Chairman, Hon Sani J B Daura, Chief of Staff to the Governor Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, ward and polling unit executives, party members, community leaders, and supporters, reflecting widespread enthusiasm for the initiative
