Nollywood actress Faithia Williams was overcome with grief when she learned of her mother’s passing, a moment captured in a deeply emotional video shared by fellow actress Regina Chukwu.
Faithia’s mother passed away on the eve of her 55th birthday, a loss that has left the actress struggling to process the reality. She described her mother as her cheerleader, prayer warrior, confidante, and best friend, someone whose presence shaped much of her life.
In the video shared on Instagram, Faithia is seen on her phone, tears streaming down her face as colleagues surround her in support. Regina Chukwu wrote alongside the clip, expressing the difficulty of the moment: “It wasn’t easy. Faithia, I can’t even say I understand fully how you felt yesterday or how you feel now, but one thing is clear: you loved your mother deeply, and it showed the moment you heard the news. It took a lot to calm her down, but Anty, please be strong. Rest in peace, Grandma.”
Faithia’s loss follows a series of similar heartaches in the entertainment industry this year. Actor Timini Egbuson mourned his father earlier in 2026, vowing to honor his legacy. Comedian Alibaba also lost his mother, with his wife Mary Akpobome sharing a poignant tribute to her final visit.
More recently, BBNaija star Liquorose grieved the death of her father, reflecting on the depth of her loss, while actress Lizzy Gold lost her father just days before the New Year, describing it as a moment she had never anticipated.
Faithia Williams’ heartbreak has resonated with fans and colleagues alike, a reminder of the universal pain of losing a parent and the importance of support during life’s most difficult moments.
