The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Dr Emmanuel Ironbar, has described Governor Bassey Edet Otu as a divine blessing to the people of Cross River and to Nigeria.
In a heartfelt message marking the governor’s 66th birthday, Ironbar praised Otu’s leadership, calling him a visionary and a reformer whose impact continues to inspire faith and progress across the state. He said the day was not just a celebration of life but a reflection on the governor’s remarkable influence on governance, development, and humanity.
According to him, Governor Otu has shown through his actions that true leadership is built on faith, compassion, and service. “Your Excellency, you have proven that leadership anchored on faith and love for humanity becomes a channel through which divine sweetness flows to the people,” Ironbar said.
He highlighted how the governor’s administration has redefined governance by transforming Cross River from a civil service-driven economy into a vibrant hub of innovation, enterprise, and inclusive growth. “Under your watch, dreams are being realized, destinies reshaped, and hope restored in the hearts of our people,” he noted.
Reflecting on the governor’s achievements, Ironbar said the Otu administration has spread peace and development across the length and breadth of the state from the serene shores of Calabar to the lush rainforests of Boki and the hilltops of Obanliku. He described the government’s style as compassionate, prayerful, and people-centered, uniting communities, healing divisions, and reviving public confidence in leadership.
He also commended Governor Otu’s unwavering commitment to transparency and integrity, which he said has rekindled public trust and strengthened unity across political and cultural lines. “Through your people-first approach, you have bridged divides, embraced all faiths and ethnicities, and ensured that no one is left behind,” he added.
Ironbar celebrated the governor’s achievements in key sectors such as infrastructure, security, and tourism, describing his leadership as a renaissance that has brought peace, stability, and prosperity to the state.
“Your Excellency, you are truly the blessing that God sent to Cross River at the appointed time,” he said. “You have brought sweetness to our politics, hope to our people, and clear direction to our development.”
He lauded Otu’s humility and deep spirituality, calling him “a man whose faith anchors his leadership and whose compassion binds the state as one family under God.”
Ironbar prayed for the governor’s continued strength and wisdom, wishing him many more fruitful years in service to God and humanity. “Happy birthday, Your Excellency,” he wrote. “May your legacy endure, and may the sweetness you have brought to Cross River flow endlessly as your name remains etched in gold a symbol of hope, unity, and purposeful leadership.”
