Security forces in Kaduna State have successfully taken down a notorious kidnapping ring, arresting six suspects and clearing out a hideout located in the Ikara Local Government Area. The operation was triggered by a courageous survivor who managed to escape his captors and provide the authorities with precise intel regarding his ordeal.
The victim formally reported his abduction on Tuesday, pointing police toward a property in Dogon Pako Village owned by 65-year-old Ja’e Samalu. Acting on this lead, the Ikara Police Division teamed up with local vigilante groups to launch a swift raid on the residence. Reports understands that the mission was successful, resulting in the capture of all six suspects, whose ages range from 20 to 65.
While the group remains in police custody under active investigation, authorities are doubling down on efforts to track down other members of the criminal network who managed to evade capture. The state’s Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, publicly praised both his officers and the local residents whose timely tips helped dismantle the operation.
Commissioner Rabiu has used this incident to remind the public that community cooperation is the backbone of regional security. He urged citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious activity immediately, warning homeowners in particular to be wary of individuals who might attempt to turn residential buildings into holding facilities for criminal activities.
