Zoyols News

Masai Russell of the United States set a new world record in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League meeting in Zurich.

The 26-year-old clocked 12.09 seconds to break the previous mark of 12.12 seconds held by Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan since the 2022 World Championships in Eugene. Russell had never run faster than 12.14 seconds before this race.

She took control early, pulling ahead after clearing the second hurdle and holding her lead to the finish. Tobi Amusan finished second in a season-best 12.23 seconds and praised the performance, saying she was happy with her own result and the quality of the race.
