The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the results for the November/December 2025 examinations, bringing a sigh of relief to thousands of candidates across the country. The results, which cover the National Business Certificate (NBC), National Technical Certificate (NTC), and their advanced counterparts, show a solid performance with a significant portion of the student population meeting key academic benchmarks.

According to data released by the board and shared on Reports, 60 percent of the candidates who sat for the exams achieved five credits or more, including the compulsory Mathematics and English Language. This group of successful students totaled 34,060, representing a determined effort to master both core academics and specialized technical skills. When looking at the broader picture, the statistics are even more encouraging, as 54,009 candidates, nearly 95 percent of the total secured five credits and above with or without the two core subjects.

The 2025 examination cycle saw a total of 61,591 candidates register for the tests across 2,079 centers nationwide. The demographics show a healthy mix of 34,185 male and 27,406 female participants, all competing for certification in various trades and general education subjects. Dr. Muhammed Muhammed, the Registrar and CEO of NABTEB, noted that this year’s numbers reflect a 28.42 percent jump in enrollment and a nearly 14 percent increase in examination centers compared to 2024, signaling a growing trust in the value of technical and vocational education.

Integrity remains a top priority for the board, and the latest figures suggest that monitoring efforts are paying off. Only 259 candidates, representing a tiny 0.42 percent of the total, were flagged for examination malpractice. This low figure is a testament to the rigorous supervision and technological measures put in place to protect the credibility of the certificates issued.

Beyond the general numbers, the performance across specific trades tells an interesting story. Candidates in Construction and Engineering trades led the pack with pass rates of roughly 79 percent and 77 percent, respectively. While Business trades saw a slightly lower performance at 52 percent, the overall outcome points toward a robust future for Nigeria’s technical workforce. Candidates can now access their results through the official online portal or via the approved SMS service.
