Just five days after inaugurating a new State Executive Council, Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has dismissed all 30 of his Special Advisers.
The announcement was made during the first executive council meeting with the newly appointed commissioners at the Government House in Minna.
According to a statement from the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the decision aims to allow Governor Bago to reorganize and reposition the advisers’ portfolios. The move is intended to enhance efficiency and ensure that each office contributes effectively to the governor’s New Niger Agenda.
The statement emphasized that the termination of appointments is not punitive but strategic, reflecting the administration’s commitment to streamlining governance and maximizing the impact of its executive team.
