The programme, which forms part of the wider OPay Scholars Programme, has taken another step forward following the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding with Miva Open University.
With the latest partnership, the scholarship initiative has now reached 25 tertiary institutions. The programme is being implemented alongside other youth focused initiatives, including the OPay National Innovation Challenge in partnership with Google and 3MTT, as well as OPay Futures.
OPay is not stopping there. The company plans to extend the scholarship programme to 16 more tertiary institutions before the end of 2026. If achieved, the expansion will bring the total number of participating institutions to 41.
For thousands of young Nigerians, those figures represent much more than the size of a corporate programme. They represent the chance to stay in school, complete a degree and work towards a better future.
